Storm Bringer

Yesterday I was out to Ullapool and Loch Broom - it was absolutely stunning on the way over with golden light… creating really special photographs on that road though is a bit tricky as there is little in the way of close up interest near the roadside. I do have a few ideas for the future though and a couple that I have already shot and will no doubt revisit. Yesterday, however, I decided to go with an old croft house overlooking Loch Broom.

It was then on to shoot a house in Ullapool itself. A really spacious bungalow, although one that was perhaps not the most photogenic so I had to work it quite hard to get something useful. The job of a property photographer is to draw in the browser to want to go and look at a place, and this certainly falls into the category of “worth viewing”… it perhaps does require a modicum of vision though to see what it could be with more modern decor and furnishings.

Today has been a bit quieter - I came down with a bit of a lurgy yesterday evening and then today we were due to be hit by a storm, which has come to pass. So it is a case of hunkering down for the day and sitting it out. It’s raining hard and blowing a hoolie out there so I am glad not to be out and about just now!

Next week is starting to look a bit more like a return to normal with a couple of jobs in from a regular hinting at a return to activity - plus I have three out in Moray to look at and probably a full day out on Skye too (just awaiting confirmation on the costs on that one!). There is also a floorplan, siteplan and basic photo shoot for a holiday let lined up for Monday morning. Before then though, I think sleep and try to get this bug out of my system!
