Comparisons

It’s not often that I get the chance to shoot a property that has already been shot. In this instance it was done by the selling agent, and the property has sat unsold for months - which is highly unusual for a property in this location. People I have canvassed on the matter said that it looked run down and low quality from viewing the photos - even people in the market for just such a house - so I was not expecting much when I opened the door (although I thought the exterior alone should sell the place as it is one of my favourite houses on this particular street).

I was utterly gob-smacked when I went in, the house was stunning. Yes, it needs a little TLC… but mostly it just needs lived in by a family!

It just so happens that I took some of my photographs from the same point as the agent allowing for a direct comparison. I suspect these may be “iPhone” shots, and they are far from the worst I have seen, but it makes for an interesting comparison between what you pay for and what you get. My versions were shot for an agency that pays roughly my hourly rate for an entire job (floorplan, 360 VR tour, photos) so I spend a hectic hour on them and no more - no editing or post processing is done and they are shot in JPG to speed up the process as far as possible… but they are still night and day from the agent supplied images.

So if you are looking to sell, or rent out, or short term let anything get a proper pro involved!
